This was our first class field trip in which we visited the Vacaville area in order to observe murals that had been painted by formal mural workshop students. The murals were located at several different schools throughout the area. We wanted to get an idea of what past students had created in order to start getting an idea of what we wanted to design.
This spring quarter, the UC Davis Chicano Studies Mural Workshop class is designing and painting a mural at the Migrant Head Start Center located in Woodland. The center is a valuable resource for many of the migrant parents and Woodland community members that live in region. Our goal is to create a mural that reflects the Migrant Head Start Center in all of its aspects and what it brings to the community. We invite you to follow along as we share with you our mural creation experience.
