We decided to visit the local Woodland community in order to see what murals past classes had created and the images they decided to incorporate within them. The murals were mostly located at local schools within Woodland.
This particular mural was painted by Maceo Montoya, the instructor for the course, on the side of a local restaurant.
This mural was painted at Woodland High School. The panels were created by the school's very own wood shop class the year it was created. A true sense of community involvement.
This spring quarter, the UC Davis Chicano Studies Mural Workshop class is designing and painting a mural at the Migrant Head Start Center located in Woodland. The center is a valuable resource for many of the migrant parents and Woodland community members that live in region. Our goal is to create a mural that reflects the Migrant Head Start Center in all of its aspects and what it brings to the community. We invite you to follow along as we share with you our mural creation experience.
