UC Davis Mural Workshop: Spring 2011

This spring quarter, the UC Davis Chicano Studies Mural Workshop class is designing and painting a mural at the Migrant Head Start Center located in Woodland. The center is a valuable resource for many of the migrant parents and Woodland community members that live in region. Our goal is to create a mural that reflects the Migrant Head Start Center in all of its aspects and what it brings to the community. Mural Sketching and Color Rendering Part 1

These were some of the sketches that were brainstormed during the class. Many great ideas, yet it had to be a collaborative process of picking and choosing what worked and what didn't in order to settle on a final layout design.

Murals take time and effort. These are essentially multiple sketches and ideas that we, as a class, picked and chose from.
